Luno Collaborates with MPC to Strengthen the Crypto Trading Ecosystem in Indonesia.
Crypto asset trading platform Luno has signed a joint venture with technology investment company PT Multipolar (MPC).
This collaboration aims to further strengthen the Luno digital asset trading ecosystem and expand access to digital currency (crypto) to a growing number of investors in Indonesia.
In addition, both of them are focused on getting further permits from the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (CoFTRA), after obtaining official permission as a ‘Physical Crypto Asset Trading’ platform since March 31, 2020.
Country Manager for Luno Indonesia, Jay Jayawijayaningtiya, said the company will continue crypto education programs, especially to help ordinary people get to know crypto better.
We believe MPC’s long experience in the retail segment and the Indonesian market will be a great asset in this collaboration, said Jay in a statement, Saturday (12182021).
Luno and Lippo Group have a long track record of collaboration, since 2015 when Venturra Capital led Luno Indonesia’s Series-A funding round.
With support from Venturra, Luno officially entered the Indonesian market in 2016. Since then, Lippo Group has continued to support Luno, even after Luno was acquired by Digital Currency Group in 2020. Venturra Capital itself is one of MPC’s portfolio companies.
Together with Luno, we will further intensify financial literacy related to crypto assets, and remove the stigma that crypto assets are not a real business, said CEO of MPC, Adrian Suherman.
